Mohan Babu University, Tirupati, successfully hosted the ICSSR-sponsored two-day National Seminar on “Integrating AYUSH with Community Medicine: A Framework for Holistic and Sustainable Public Health in India” (IACMI–2026) on September 7 and 8, 2026, at the Dasari Auditorium. Organized by the MB School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the seminar brought together academicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, AYUSH practitioners, students, and policymakers from across the country.
The seminar commenced with the Presidential Address by Prof. P. Venkatramana, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Mohan Babu University, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based approaches in advancing holistic public health. Dr. Ramachandra Reddy, CEO of Glory Pharma Company, graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Dr. M. Niranjan Babu, Executive Council Member of the Pharmacy Council of India, attended as the Guest of Honour and highlighted the need of integrating diverse healthcare systems, particularly AYUSH, into mainstream medical practice.
The first day featured eminent resource persons, including Prof. Renu Dixit from SV Ayurvedic Medical College, Tirupati; Dr. Siva Santhosh Kumar from SVIMS, Tirupati; and Prof. Srinivas from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, RASS, Tirupati. Key themes included disease prevention, health promotion, traditional knowledge systems, evidence-based practices, public health interventions, primary healthcare, and community participation. Faculty members, researchers, and students from across India presented their work and exchanged ideas with leading experts. The seminar provided a dynamic platform for knowledge-sharing and inspired practical strategies for integrating AYUSH systems into community medicine.
The second day featured insightful sessions by eminent resource persons, Prof. Rajan from CMPRH, Ministry of AYUSH, Ooty; Prof. Savithramma from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati; and Dr. Sathiya Rajeswaran from CCRS, Puducherry. The programme included expert lectures, technical sessions, research paper presentations, poster displays, and interactive discussions. These sessions encouraged interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders in healthcare and public health.
The seminar concluded with the valedictory function, graced by Dr. K. Saradhi, Registrar, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Babu Devasenapati, Dean, School of Engineering, as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries commended the active participation of delegates and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee. The seminar was meticulously convened and coordinated by Dr. M. R. Jeyaprakash, Deputy Dean, and Dr. R. Radha, Professor. By promoting holistic and sustainable approaches, IACMI–2026 demonstrated MBU’s commitment to advancing public health and fostering innovative healthcare models.
