It serves as a hub for research, development, and knowledge dissemination to benefit both the organization hosting the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and the broader community. The primary goal is to foster excellence in a particular area, utilizing IBM’s products, services, and technologies. 

The key aspects and functions associated with an IBM Centre of Excellence is to explore and innovate in areas related to IBM offerings, and to develop new applications, solutions, and approaches using IBM technologies. 

Collaborative program with IBM is started at Mohan Babu University in 2022. The Department of Data Science conducts Workshops on every semester and also organizes training on the curriculum prescribed by the IBM for the students registered for IBM collaborative program.

The Data Analytics Research Center at Mohan Babu University was started for the benefit of UG, PG students, Research scholars and faculty members. The Centre motivates the research activity in the fields of cloud computing and data science. The center is well-equipped to create innovative solutions that influence the lives of people in positive ways. It builds systems and algorithms to extract knowledge, find patterns, generate insights, predict and visualize diverse data for healthcare and agricultural applications through cloud based services such as Meghdoot cloud by C-DAC, Chennai. It is equipped with Data Analytics and cloud computing software such as Python, R Studio, Weka, Spark, Hadoop, RapidMiner, MATLAB and Meghdoot cloud.

The Center for Computer Networks and Cyber Security at Mohan Babu University was established to empower the students and faculty to gain practical experience on current cyber security solutions and technologies. The major areas of research are IoT security, Cyber Physical System Security, Computer network security, Network monitoring and forensics, Vulnerability remediation and Assurance, Cloud computing and Software defined Networks. 

The faculty has published 46 papers in peer reviewed journals, presented 75 papers in international conferences and 15 books and book chapters. Filed 20 patents and 02 patents were granted.

The department has conducted International Conferences on Data Analytics, Smart Computing and Networks during 2022 and 2023 respectively.

✅ Passed 10+2 / Intermediate examination with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or Entrepreneurship.

✅ Obtained a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the above subjects taken together (40% for candidates belonging to reserved categories).
