IEEE MBU Student Branch

Welcome to the IEEE Mohan Babu University Student Branch. As a community of innovators, we aim to foster technological advancement and professional growth. Join us to connect with like-minded peers, learn from industry experts, and contribute to groundbreaking projects.

IEEE is an acronym for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. It is the most extensive technical professional organization globally, committed to promoting technology for the betterment of humanity. IEEE motivates an international community through its publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational endeavours. With over 400,000 members in more than 160 countries, IEEE is a leading authority on various technological areas including aerospace systems, computers, telecommunications, biomedical engineering, electric power, and consumer electronics.

The formation of IEEE occurred in 1963 through the merger of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) and the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE). The AIEE, established in 1884, provided support and assistance to electrical professionals, while the IRE, founded in 1912, had a specific focus on radio and electronics.

The IEEE is responsible for developing industry standards across various technologies, which frequently gain recognition as both national and international standards. Additionally, IEEE is responsible for the publication of numerous journals, the establishment of numerous local chapters, and the formation of several prominent societies in specialized fields, such as the IEEE Computer Society.
