The Wellness Wizard Club of the School of Paramedical Allied and Health Care Sciences at MBU successfully organized a webinar titled “Neuropharmacology in Mental Health: Breaking Down Anxiety and Mood Disorders” on 20th March 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in TGR Auditorium. This insightful session was specifically designed for Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) students to enhance their understanding of neuropharmacology and its implications for mental health.
The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Madhav Peripydi, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, Sri Balaji Medical College, Hospital & Research Institute, Renigunta, Tirupati. Dr. Madhav brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise in pharmacology, particularly in its application to anxiety and mood disorders, providing valuable insights for the attending students.
The webinar was meticulously planned and coordinated by Dr. K. Vineetha, Assistant Professor, department of Physiotherapy. Her dedication ensured a smooth and enriching learning experience for the participants. A total of 45 students from the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (IV Semester) actively participated in the webinar. The session catered exclusively to internal students of the School of Paramedical Allied and Health Care Sciences.
The interactive session allowed students to engage in a stimulating question-and-answer session, where they posed questions regarding treatment methodologies and the future of pharmacology in mental health care. The speaker addressed their queries with clarity, emphasizing an integrated approach to treatment that combines pharmacology with rehabilitative therapies.
The webinar concluded, leaving students with a greater appreciation for the complexities of mental health treatment and the role pharmacology plays in managing anxiety and mood disorders. The event was highly informative and well-received by attendees, fostering a true understanding of neuropharmacology among future physiotherapy professionals.
