The Sports & Cultural Club at Mohan Babu University organized an event titled, “BLOCKBUSTER BUDDIES”, on 28th February 2025 from 10 P.M to 12 P.M at room no 325, CSE BLOCK. The event aimed to design as an entertaining activity, this event tested participants’ knowledge and enthusiasm for cinema through a series of fun-filled and interactive rounds.
The event was diligently designed by the faculty coordinator Dr. Konda Hari Krishna and the student coordinators, MIRSHA, SRAVYA, TEJA, PRASAD, KARTHIKA. The event saw a massive turnout, with 120 participants competing with great enthusiasm. The rounds were designed to test their quick thinking, communication skills, and love for movies. The excitement and energy in the room were palpable, making it a truly memorable event.
Participants were given a set of three words related to a movie (e.g., hero name, heroine name, and director name). Based on this combination, they had to correctly identify the movie. This round served as an elimination stage, with the least scorers being eliminated. Each team had a pair of participants. One participant plugged in their earphones with loud music while the other recited a given movie dialogue or a song lyric aloud. The challenge was for the participant with earphones to correctly interpret and guess the phrase. Pairs that successfully completed the challenge in the shortest time moved to the final round. This was the surprise round that kept participants on their toes, adding an element of excitement and unpredictability. The details of this round were revealed on the spot, making it an exhilarating conclusion to the event.
BLOCKBUSTER BUDDIES proved to be a grand success, engaging students in a fun yet competitive environment. The event not only entertained but also fostered teamwork, quick thinking, and enthusiasm for cinema.
The SPORTS & CULTURAL Club extended its heartfelt thanks to the members of organizing committee and the participants for making the session a resounding success.
