About the Event

The Breath Easy Club organized a clinical presentation on “Sleep Pattern and Its Effect” on 06 August 2026. The School of Paramedical, Allied and Health Care Sciences, conducted the event offline at MBU. The program aimed to create awareness about healthy sleep and its impact on respiratory and overall health. The session lasted one hour and focused on the importance of maintaining a regular sleep–wake cycle.

Clinical Case Presentations

R.S. Angeline Yehudhiya, Assistant Professor, School of Paramedical, Allied and Health Care Sciences, coordinated the event. Seventeen students participated actively in the clinical presentation. The session explained normal sleep patterns, sleep stages, and the significance of adequate sleep duration. Students learned about common sleep-related disorders such as insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea, and circadian rhythm disorders. A clinical case presentation helped students understand the assessment and identification of sleep-related problems. The importance of clinical history, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, STOP-BANG questionnaire, and polysomnography was highlighted.

Takeaways by Participants

Students shared positive feedback about the interactive nature of the session. They gained awareness about normal sleep stages and the importance of quality sleep. Participants appreciated the discussion on obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and excessive daytime sleepiness. They understood the role of early recognition in managing sleep-related disorders. Students valued learning about basic sleep assessment tools and their clinical applications. The interactive discussion encouraged critical thinking and improved their understanding of sleep health.
