Industry Exposure Visit to Technomed: Innovation in Assistive Technology

Key Emphasis
The Wellness Wizards Club organized an industry exposure visit on 25 March 2026 at Technomed Electronics, Perungudi, Chennai. The event aimed to provide students practical knowledge of assistive and rehabilitation technologies used in clinical practice. Students from MPT III, BPT VIII, and BPT IV semesters actively participated in this offline visit. The visit helped students understand the importance of innovation in assistive technology for patient care and rehabilitation.
Highlights of the Visit
Dr. Akbar J, Assistant Professor, SOPAHCS & Physiotherapy, coordinated the visit with great dedication. A total of 32 students joined the program and showed keen interest throughout the sessions. Industry experts Mr. Arun Kailash, Vice President Marketing, and Mr. Sundaram, Senior Sales Manager, guided the students. They explained manufacturing processes, quality control measures, and user-centered design in developing assistive devices. The visit highlighted the growing role of assistive technology in improving functional independence and rehabilitation outcomes.
