Hands-on Training on First-aid Practices: CPR and Choking

About the Club and Event

The Pharma Club organized hands-on training session on First-aid Practices at MBU. The event focused on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First-aid Management of Choking. The training aimed to enhance students’ knowledge and practical skills in handling medical emergencies. Students from II, III, and IV Pharm. D attended the session. The program promoted awareness about early recognition and prompt intervention during emergencies.

Training session on Basic Life Support

Dr. V. Hemalatha, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy, coordinated the event. A total of 61 students participated actively in the training. Mrs. Meena, Assistant Professor, Sree Vidyanikethan College of Nursing, conducted a session on Basic Life Support and CPR. Mrs. R. Bhuvanasai, Assistant Professor, Child Health Nursing, guided students on First-aid Management of Choking. Both resource persons demonstrated techniques and supervised hands-on practice. Students performed CPR on manikins and practiced choking management methods. The training highlighted the importance of timely response and correct techniques in saving lives.

Takeaways by the Participants Feedback

Students expressed that the training improved their confidence in handling emergencies. They valued the practical demonstrations and appreciated the opportunity to practice CPR and choking management. Many participants shared that the session enhanced their awareness of first-aid practices. They highlighted the importance of early recognition and prompt intervention during emergencies. Students felt prepared to act responsibly in life-threatening situations. The training encouraged them to adopt emergency preparedness and responsible healthcare practices.

Conclusion

The Pharma Club expressed gratitude to the participants for their active involvement.
