Green Campus Drive: Tree Plantation Initiative

About the Event
The Tree Appreciation Club organized the Green Campus Drive on 24 August 2026. The club conducted the activity from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The program took place beside the Indoor Stadium at MBU. The event aimed to promote tree planting and environmental care among students. The activity also encouraged students to protect nature through simple daily actions. They planned the activity to increase greenery around the campus.
Practical Methods of Tree Planting
Dr. Manjula Rakshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Horticulture, coordinated the activity. A total of 27 School of Agriculture students participated in the program. The coordinator explained the importance of trees before starting the plantation work. She guided students about proper planting methods and basic plant care. Students prepared the soil and selected suitable places for planting. They planted almond saplings with proper spacing and care. Students watered the saplings and placed protective supports around them. Faculty members guided students during each stage of the activity. The students worked together and shared responsibilities during the plantation process. The activity helped students understand practical methods of tree planting. It also encouraged teamwork, leadership, and responsibility toward the environment.
