The Farm Machinery Club of Mohan Babu University organized an educational visit to the greenhouse structure at Farmwise, India, Tanapalli, on 24th January 2025. The primary objective of this activity was to provide students with an in-depth understanding of controlled environment agriculture and its practical applications in modern farming.
The Educational visit was conducted under the coordination and support of the faculty advisor, Dr. Gorla Gayathri (Associate professor of the department of Agriculture.) The event witnessed active participation from 11 students who enthusiastically engaged with the experts and asked insightful questions.
The visit to the polyhouse structure offered participants valuable insights into the design and operational aspects of greenhouses. The structural framework and covering materials were explained in detail. Ventilation systems and irrigation mechanisms were demonstrated. Professionals showcased the role of greenhouses in improving crop productivity. Emphasis was placed on optimizing temperature, humidity, and light for enhanced plant growth. Students observed automation technologies like drip irrigation and fertigation systems. The activity underscored the importance of greenhouses in sustainable farming practices. Participants gained knowledge about innovative approaches to boost agricultural output while conserving resources.
