The Electro Affinity Club, School of Engineering, in collaboration with the IEEE Power and Energy Society MBU SB chapter, conducted a technical writing competition on “Clean Energy Awareness Drive” on April 23 at Room No. 109, West Block. The competition aimed to promote awareness in the domain of clean energy, emphasizing the growing necessity for renewable sources. The essay-writing competition provided the right platform for budding professionals to explore ideas on renewable energy and sustainable practices.
Approximately 60 students from the department took part in the event, submitting well-researched technical essays that reflected their understanding of clean energy and its challenges in production and implementation strategies.
Participants submitted their technical write-ups highlighting the importance of clean energy sources like hydro, solar, wind, and bioenergy. By encouraging students to participate in this competition, the event facilitated a deep understanding of the challenges of transitioning from fossil fuels to green alternatives and invited discussions on practical solutions that accelerate the shift toward sustainability in the near future.
A panel of three expert faculty members evaluated the write-ups of the participants based on content clarity, technical depth, and relevance to the topic. The top three write-ups were sorted out, and the winners were declared and honored with certificates for their ability to articulate their ideas effectively.
Most of the students effectively participated in the competition and presented their points of view in their write-ups on issues such as climate change, energy conservation, and the role of the youth in creating a cleaner planet. The success of the event reaffirmed the importance of student involvement in global sustainability activities, encouraging them to explore more innovative solutions that could drive the future of energy towards a cleaner, greener, and environmentally friendly direction.
