Healthy Food, Healthy Future: A World Food Day Awareness Initiative at MBU

October 16

The Nutrition Club, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MBU, organized a meaningful World Food Day awareness program on October 16, 2025. The event was held at the Pharmacy Block from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The event aimed to create awareness about the role of nutrition in building a healthier future. It focused on helping students understand the components of a balanced diet, the impact of food habits on health, and the connection between food, diseases, and medication.

Dr. Hari V, Associate Professor, coordinated the event with support from the Nutrition Club. A total of fifty students and two faculty members participated actively throughout the day. Their involvement was enthusiastic and thoughtful, especially during the theme-making competition and the interactive awareness session. The energy and curiosity they brought to the discussions made the program lively and engaging.

The activities were designed to be both informative and hands-on. The morning session featured a creative theme-making competition, allowing students to express their ideas visually. In the afternoon, the awareness session covered key topics such as healthy plate contents, good and bad food habits, and practical tips for preparing instant healthy meals. The program concluded with an open discussion where students shared their reflections and personal takeaways. The sessions also encouraged participants to explore simple and quick ways to prepare nutritious meals.

Participants left the event with a deeper understanding of how daily food choices affect long-term health. Many expressed a renewed commitment to adopting healthier eating habits and spreading awareness among peers. The feedback collected showed strong appreciation for the practical insights and interactive format of the sessions.

The organizers extended heartfelt thanks to all participants for their active involvement and positive spirit. They also shared that MBU has planned a calendar of health-focused activities to continue promoting nutrition awareness and healthy living across the campus.
