The Data Club, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, School of Computing, organized a hands-on learning session titled “Build Your First Web Project” on 16th October 2025 at the university campus. The session aimed to introduce students to the basics of building websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It focused on helping them understand how web pages are structured and styled, and how to add interactive elements. The event also encouraged students to think creatively, solve problems independently, and work together as a team. It was a great opportunity for them to explore the possibilities of web technologies and consider future careers in the IT field.
The event was coordinated by Ms. K. Sandhya, Assistant Professor, who guided the students throughout the session. A good number of enthusiastic students participated and showed great interest in learning. They were attentive during the demonstrations and actively took part in the hands-on activities. Their energy and willingness to try new things made the session lively and productive.
The session was divided into two parts. In the first half, students were shown how to build a simple website step-by-step. The demonstration was clear and easy to follow. In the second half, students got a chance to create their own basic web projects. They worked in small groups, shared ideas, and helped each other. This mix of theory and practice helped them understand the concepts better and made learning fun.
Participants walked away with a solid understanding of how websites are built. They learned how to use GitHub, deploy their projects, and even got a glimpse of how AI can be used in web development. Many students said they felt more confident and excited to explore more in this field. Some even suggested future sessions on resume building and advanced web tools.
The organizers thanked all the participants for their active involvement and positive feedback. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the event a success. The department looks forward to hosting more such sessions that inspire learning and creativity.
