Disconnect to Reconnect: A Digital Detox for Mental Clarity

October 24

The Together We Heel Club of MBU organized a workshop titled “Digital Detox & Presence-Disconnect to Reconnect” on 24th October 2025 as part of World Mental Health Month in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy Practice. The event was held on campus and brought together students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals for a meaningful conversation on mental well-being.

The main aim of the event was to raise awareness about emotional resilience and mental health, especially among young learners and those in the healthcare field. The session focused on helping participants understand the impact of digital overload and encouraged them to take mindful breaks from technology. It also highlighted the importance of empathy, communication, and human connection in today’s fast-paced world.

The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Bandla  Aswini, Assistant Professor at the MB School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Around 25 participants attended the session with great enthusiasm. Students from various departments actively took part in the discussions and activities. Their involvement reflected a genuine interest in learning how to balance digital habits with emotional well-being.

The session included motivational talks by final-year Pharm D students, who shared powerful messages about seeking help, supporting one another, and building a culture of care. They also interacted with students from different departments, discussing how to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. The guided program encouraged participants to disconnect from their devices and reconnect with themselves and those around them through real-world experiences and mindful presence.

Participants shared that the session helped them reflect on their digital habits and understand how constant connectivity affects their mental and emotional health. Many felt more aware of the need to slow down, be present, and engage meaningfully with others. The activities also helped improve focus, self-awareness, and appreciation for offline moments.

At the end of the event, the organizers expressed heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their active involvement and openness. They appreciated the positive energy and thoughtful contributions from everyone and hoped that the session would inspire lasting changes in how students approach mental wellness and digital balance.
