
The Plant Health Club, the School of Agriculture of MBU organized an exciting and educational event titled “Quiz-o-Bugs – Insect Themed Quiz” on 19th September 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Room No. 2403 in the Civil Block. The event brought together students from the III Year B.Sc. program, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere focused on learning through fun.
The main aim of this quiz competition was to help students learn about insect diversity and crop pests in an enjoyable and engaging way. It was specially designed to raise awareness about the insects that affect major agricultural and horticultural crops around Tirupati. The event also highlighted the importance of eco-friendly pest management practices and encouraged students to think about sustainable farming methods.
The event was coordinated by Dr. P. Maheswara Reddy, Assistant Professor, School of Agriculture. A total of 45 students participated in the quiz with great enthusiasm. They showed active involvement, quick thinking, and strong teamwork throughout the competition. Their energy and interest made the event both competitive and enjoyable.
The quiz was conducted in a friendly and structured manner. Questions were framed to test students’ knowledge of insect taxonomy, pest identification, and management techniques. The format encouraged students to think critically and apply what they had learned in class. It also helped them understand how this knowledge can be used in real-life farming situations to protect crops and reduce chemical use.
Many students felt that the activity sharpened their analytical skills and prepared them better for future exams and fieldwork. And moreover, the quiz helped them revise important concepts and boosted their confidence in identifying pests and understanding their impact. The fun learning approach made the session memorable and meaningful.
At the end of the event, the organizers thanked all the participants for their active involvement and cheerful spirit. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the quiz a grand success. The Plant Health Club expressed its appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the event both educational and enjoyable.
