Fostering Life Skills through Literature and Lifestyle Awareness

The Reader’s Club of Mohan Babu University organized an exciting and thought-provoking event titled “Life Skills through Reading & Lifestyle Reflection” on 29th July 2025, from 02:00 PM to 03:30 PM at the NAB Seminar Hall. The initiative aimed to cultivate reading habits, enhance critical thinking, strengthen communication skills, and raise lifestyle awareness among students through interactive, theme-based activities.

The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Anand Kumar and K. Bhargav, Assistant Professors in the Department of Commerce and Management. With over 70 students from various departments actively participating, the event witnessed enthusiastic engagement and collaborative spirit. Student coordinators—Ms. Silpa Gutta (2nd BBA), Mr. Sk. Asgar (2nd BBA), Mr. Md. Ayub (2nd B.Com), Mr. K. Manikanta (2nd BBA), and Ms. N. Bhavya Sai (2nd BBA)—played a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of the program.

This two-round event was designed to improve the daily habits and lifestyle of students. Round 1, titled Lifestyle Bingo, featured a fun and interactive bingo game based on daily habits and lifestyle choices. Students were given bingo sheets with items like “Read a book this week,” “Woke up before 6 AM,” “Helped someone today,” etc. This round helped in creating awareness about positive routines and healthy lifestyle choices. Round 2 was designed with the title “Book & Life Skill Match,” where the participants demonstrated strong analytical and reasoning skills. They developed a greater appreciation of how literature reflects and teaches real-life lessons. The activity fostered team spirit, open discussion, and a deeper understanding of both books and human behavior.

Throughout the event, participants demonstrated remarkable creativity, collaboration, and confidence. Their spirited engagement reflected a growing interest in reading books. Students enjoyed a mix of fun and learning. It promoted reading, boosted confidence, and fostered a healthy lifestyle mindset. The success of the event was underscored by student requests for more such interactive and enriching sessions in the future.
