TNA 2025: Aligning Faculty Growth with Institutional Excellence

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of MBU conducted a four-day “Training Need Analysis (TNA)” from 18 July 2025 to 22 July 2025 at IQAC Discussion Hall. It was aimed at evaluating faculty competencies and identifying training areas for professional development.
The Director of IQAC introduced the purpose and scope of the TNA sessions, emphasizing the alignment of faculty development with institutional goals, accreditation frameworks, and global educational standards.
To foster inclusive participation, it was recommended that each department should depute one faculty representative from each cadre—Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor—accompanied by their respective Deans or Heads of Divisions.
Each session was attended by the concerned Deans, Heads and faculty representatives from each cadre. Active engagement was observed during the proceedings as faculty members reflected on their current responsibilities and potential areas of development.
Based on interactive analysis and feedback from the participants, the following areas were recommended across all departments:
Common Training Domains for All Cadres:
- Training in research methodology, submitting grant proposals, employing data analysis tools, and publishing scholarly papers.
- Modules on academic integrity, student-faculty boundaries, and professional ethics and human values.
- Training in outcome-based education (OBE), NEP-aligned teaching practices, and innovative pedagogy.
- Techniques for managing mixed-ability classes, discipline, and promoting active learning.
- For senior faculty members — departmental leadership, decision-making, and mentoring.
- Training in interpersonal communication, peer coordination, and performance management.
Additional Suggestions:
- Use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital teaching tools
- Workshops on curriculum design and revision
- Training on emotional intelligence and student counselling
- Time management and work-life balance workshops
- Sessions on collaborative interdisciplinary teaching
TNA insights will shape IQAC’s future plans for faculty development, strengthening its commitment to quality and continuous growth.
