Word Marathon: A Festival of Language, Logic, and Learning

October 22

The Electrical Technical Association (ETA) of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of MBU, organized a lively and intellectually engaging event titled “Word Marathon: A Festival of Words” on 22nd October 2025 at the Mini Auditorium. The main aim of the event was to help students build their technical vocabulary, improve communication skills, and strengthen teamwork through fun, language-based challenges. It was designed to show how words and language can be powerful tools—not just in everyday life, but also in technical and academic settings. The event encouraged students to think quickly, work together, and enjoy the process of learning through play.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Rajasekar Thota, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. A total of 55 students participated, each bringing their own spark of creativity and curiosity. Their performance was impressive, with many teams showing excellent coordination, quick thinking, and a strong grasp of both general and technical vocabulary.

The Word Marathon was conducted in two rounds. The first round was a word-based quiz that tested students on both technical and general vocabulary. The second round featured interactive word puzzles and rapid-fire questions that challenged participants to think on their feet and apply their subject knowledge in real time. The format was dynamic and engaging, keeping everyone on their toes and encouraging healthy competition.

Participants walked away with improved vocabulary, sharper communication skills, and a deeper appreciation for the role of language in technical fields. The event also helped build confidence, foster interdisciplinary connections, and promote active participation in academic clubs.

The organizers expressed heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and positive spirit. Their energy and teamwork made the event a memorable success. ETA looks forward to hosting more such events that blend learning with fun and bring students together through shared curiosity and collaboration.
