Where Imaging Meets Precision: A Student Showcase on Interventional Radiology

October 14

The Imaging Squad Club of MBU organized an insightful session titled “Interventional Radiology – Advanced Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imaging Techniques” on 14 October 2025. at the School of Paramedical and Allied Health Care Sciences. The session aimed to introduce students to the evolving field of interventional radiology, where imaging meets precision to guide minimally invasive procedures. It focused on helping students understand how these techniques are improving patient care by reducing recovery time and enhancing treatment outcomes.

Mrs. G. Moohini Latha, Assistant Professor and coordinator of the Imaging Squad Club, led the event. A total of 36 students participated enthusiastically, presenting on topics such as Cerebral, Coronary, Renal, and Peripheral Angiograms. Their presentations were well-prepared, visually engaging, and supported by real-life case discussions. Faculty members appreciated the clarity, teamwork, and confidence shown by the students.

The session included interactive segments like a quiz and image-based puzzle challenge, which tested students’ grasp of imaging anatomy and procedural steps. These activities added excitement and encouraged deeper engagement with the subject.

Participants walked away with a stronger understanding of interventional radiology, improved confidence in interpreting angiographic images, and a renewed interest in precision-based diagnostic techniques. The event inspired many to explore advanced imaging as a career path.

The organizers expressed heartfelt thanks to all participants, faculty, and supporters.  The session was concluded with the appreciation of  the students’ efforts and reaffirming the importance of combining knowledge with compassion in medical imaging.

The participants were deeply engaged in grasping the techniques shared by the presenters, recognizing how these approaches can enhance patient care by minimizing recovery time and improving treatment outcomes

The audience was captivated by the presenters’ techniques, seeing clearly how these strategies could lead to better patient care and faster recovery.
