Voice of Youth: Inspiring Elocution on Swami Vivekananda’s Ideals

The Cultural Club of MBU organized an inspiring elocution programme titled “Voice of Youth: Elocution on the Ideals of Swami Vivekananda” on 24th December 2025 in Room No. 233. The event was conducted in the presence of faculty members and students, creating a vibrant atmosphere of learning and expression. The event was aimed at instilling moral values, leadership qualities, and national consciousness among students. It sought to provide a platform where young voices could express their understanding of self-belief, discipline, service, and character building. By encouraging students to speak in both English and Telugu, the programme promoted inclusiveness and celebrated cultural diversity.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. P. Thejasree, Associate Professor and Dy. DSA, with Dr. G. Chenna Reddy, Associate professor of English, serving as the judge. A total of 33 students participated, each preparing their speeches with dedication and presenting them with confidence. The participants spoke with conviction, demonstrating their ability to connect Swami Vivekananda’s ideals to contemporary life.
The activity was conducted in a structured manner, with each participant given time to present their views. The importance of the programme lay in its ability to combine academic learning with value-based education. By focusing on Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, the event encouraged students to think critically about discipline, service, and leadership. The elocution also helped them practice public speaking in a supportive environment, thereby strengthening their communication skills and confidence.
The key takeaways for the participants were significant. They enhanced their ability to articulate ideas clearly, improved their critical thinking, and gained confidence in addressing an audience. The event also encouraged gender participation and inclusiveness, allowing students to learn from diverse perspectives. Most importantly, the programme helped them understand the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals in shaping responsible citizenship and ethical leadership.
At the end of the programme, the organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, faculty members, and the judge for their support and involvement. They appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and acknowledged the positive feedback received. The event was considered meaningful and successful, leaving a lasting impact on everyone present.
