Understanding the Stocks: MBA Students Explore the Indian Stock Market

The Finance and Investment Club, the School of Commerce and Management of MBU, organized a seminar titled “Overview of the Indian Stock Market” on 16th September 2025. The session was held in Room No. 2808 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and brought together students eager to learn more about financial markets and investment strategies. The seminar was aimed at helping students understand the basics of financial planning, the structure of the Indian stock market, and how investments work in real-world scenarios.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Dasari Rajesh Babu, Associate Professor, who guided the session with great enthusiasm and support. A total of 104 MBA students participated, showing strong interest and involvement throughout the seminar. Their energy and curiosity made the session lively and engaging. Nine students took the lead by presenting their insights on various topics such as stock exchanges, trading mechanisms, market indices, investment strategies, and risk management.

Each presentation was well-prepared and thoughtfully delivered. Students used real-life examples and data to explain their points, making the session both informative and relatable. The seminar also included a competitive element, where Ms. K. Shobha from MBA 1st year was declared the winner. Ms. T. Sowmya and Ms. S. Kasi Pradeepthi, also from MBA 1st year, were announced as runners-up. The student coordinators congratulated all the winners and participants, while the faculty coordinator appreciated the efforts of the organizing team.

Students shared positive feedback after the session. Many felt that the seminar helped them understand the stock market better and sparked their interest in financial research. Presenters mentioned that the experience improved their skills in data analysis, public speaking, and financial communication.

The organizers expressed heartfelt thanks to all the participants for making the event a success. They also emphasized the importance of such interactive sessions in building financial awareness and preparing students for future roles in the corporate world.
