
The Tree Appreciation Club of MBU organized a lively and informative quiz competition titled “Tree Trivia Quiz” on 19th September 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Department of Horticulture, This activity was specially designed for B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture students, bringing together young minds to explore the fascinating world of trees and fruit trees in a fun and engaging way.
The main aim of the quiz was to raise awareness about the importance of trees and their role in our lives. It focused on enhancing students’ knowledge about different tree species and encouraging interest in biodiversity conservation. The event was structured to be both educational and enjoyable, helping students learn through friendly competition and teamwork.
Dr. K. Mallikarjuna, Assistant Professor and Faculty Coordinator of the Tree Appreciation Club, guided the event with great enthusiasm. A total of 45 students participated actively, showing keen interest and excitement throughout the session. They answered questions with confidence and curiosity, reflecting their growing awareness and appreciation for nature.
The quiz covered a wide range of topics, including fun facts and unique features of trees like mango, neem, banyan, bamboo, apple, teak, eucalyptus, jamun, sapota, wood apple, jackfruit, aonla, guava, litchi, ber, and mulberry. Students explored the historical, ecological, medicinal, and economic value of these trees. The activity was conducted in a friendly format, encouraging group participation and healthy competition.
Participants took away several meaningful insights from the event. They learned about the cultural and ecological significance of trees, discovered interesting facts that sparked their curiosity, and developed a deeper appreciation for biodiversity. The quiz also helped improve their observation skills and fostered a sense of teamwork and collaboration.
At the end of the session, the organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement and enthusiasm. They appreciated the students’ spirit of learning and their commitment to understanding the natural world. The success of the quiz reaffirmed the club’s mission to make learning about trees both fun and meaningful, and the team looks forward to organizing more such events in the future.
