Tree Poetry and Story Writing Contest – Celebrating Creativity and Nature

The Tree Appreciation Club, the Department of Horticulture, School of Agriculture, organized a creative and inspiring event titled “Tree poetry and story Writing Contest” on 22nd November 2025. The contest was held in Room No. 1704 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event brought together the students to celebrate the beauty of trees and nature through the art of words.
The contest was aimed at encouraging students to express their thoughts and emotions about trees, nature, and the environment in a creative manner. It sought to strengthen their understanding of the role of trees in ecological balance and agricultural sustainability. By combining creativity with environmental awareness, the program provided a platform for students to connect their academic learning with artistic expression.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Malli karjuna, Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture. A total of 48 students participated in the contest, each contributing poems and short stories that reflected their imagination and concern for nature. The participants performed with great enthusiasm, showcasing their literary talents and presenting their ideas in unique and thoughtful ways. Their active involvement made the contest lively and engaging, and the atmosphere was filled with creativity and appreciation for the natural world.
