The Farm Machinery Club, the School of Agriculture of MBU organized an insightful event on 22 August 2025 at Room No. 2402 in the Agriculture Block. The theme of the session was “Drone Technology Transforming Indian Agriculture for a Sustainable Future”, and it brought together students and faculty to explore how drones are reshaping farming practices. The main goal of the event was to help students understand the growing role of drone technology in agriculture and how it supports sustainable farming. It aimed to spark curiosity and awareness about how modern tools can make farming more efficient, eco-friendly, and aligned with global sustainability goals.
The session was coordinated by Dr. Gorla Gayathri, Assistant Professor, who guided the activity with clarity and enthusiasm. Around 40 students participated actively, showing genuine interest and engagement throughout the session. Their questions and observations reflected a strong desire to learn and apply new ideas in real-world farming scenarios.
During the session, the presenters introduced to the basics of drone technology, different types of drones, and their practical uses in agriculture—such as crop monitoring, spraying, soil analysis, and irrigation management. The discussion also covered government schemes and subsidies that support farmers in adopting drone technology. The session was conducted in a clear and interactive manner, making complex ideas easy to grasp.
Students walked away with a deeper understanding of how drones can improve farming outcomes while reducing environmental impact. They also gained awareness of the support systems available to farmers and felt inspired to think about innovative solutions for future agricultural challenges.
The organizing team expressed heartfelt thanks to all participants for their enthusiasm and thoughtful contributions. The event was a meaningful step toward blending classroom learning with practical innovation in agriculture.
