The Farm Machinery Club and the School of Agriculture at Mohan Babu University organized an interactive event titled “Innovative Challenges—Redesigning a Traditional Farm Tool” on September 6, 2025. The session was held at Room No. 2302 in the Horticultural Lab, Civil Block. It brought together students and faculty in a hands-on learning experience focused on creativity and practical thinking in agriculture. The main aim of the event was to help students understand the importance of ergonomics in farm tool design. It encouraged them to think innovatively about how traditional tools could be improved to make farming safer, more efficient, and more comfortable for farmers.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Gorla Gayathri, Assistant Professor, who guided the students throughout the activity. A total of 43 students participated with great enthusiasm. They actively engaged in discussions, shared ideas, and showed genuine interest in learning about the tools and their functions. Their energy and curiosity added life to the session.
During the activity, various traditional farm tools were displayed, and their uses were explained in detail. Students were introduced to the concept of ergonomics and how it plays a vital role in reducing physical strain for farmers. Few students explained the importance of ergonomic tools in farming through PPTs. They were encouraged to think about factors like durability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of use while redesigning tools. The session was conducted in a friendly and open manner, allowing students to ask questions and share suggestions freely.
Participants walked away with a deeper understanding of how farm tools impact agricultural work. They appreciated the opportunity to explore real-world challenges and apply their creativity to solve them. Many expressed that the session opened their minds to new possibilities and helped them connect classroom learning with practical applications.
The organizers extended heartfelt thanks to all the students for their active participation and thoughtful contributions. Their participation made the event a meaningful and memorable experience for everyone involved.
