Quiz Competition – A Celebration of Mathematical Thinking

November 25

The Ramanujan Club, the Department of Mathematical Sciences, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, organized a Quiz Competition on 25th November 2025 in room 4103 and the   event brought together I B.Tech students who are eager to test their knowledge and skills in a competitive setting.

The main aim of the quiz was to encourage students to sharpen their problem‑solving ability, improve their analytical thinking, and strengthen their mathematical aptitude. The event was designed not just as a test of knowledge but as an opportunity to inspire curiosity and creativity in approaching mathematical concepts. By combining logical puzzles with subject‑based questions, the quiz created a space where students could enjoy learning.

The competition was coordinated by Ms. CH Bhavitha, Assistant Professor, Dept. of mathematics, who guided the competition with dedication. A total of 56 students participated in teams of up to six members. Their enthusiasm was evident throughout the event, as they tackled each round with energy and determination. The participants showed discipline in following the rules and displayed teamwork and confidence while solving the challenges.

The activity was conducted in multiple rounds, including MCQs, logical reasoning problems, Sudoku, and math crosses puzzles. Each round was carefully planned to balance difficulty and engagement, ensuring that students remained motivated. The variety of rounds highlighted the importance of applying mathematical concepts in different ways, from quick calculations to logical deductions. The smooth organization, supported by student volunteers, made the event enjoyable and ensured that every participant had a fair chance to showcase their skills.

The quiz helped the students strengthen their academic proficiency, improve logical reasoning, and develop a positive mindset. Many students expressed that the event encouraged them to explore mathematical patterns and problem‑solving techniques beyond their regular curriculum. It was not only a competition but also a learning experience that broadened their perspective on mathematics.

At the end of the event, the organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement and positive spirit. They appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the students and acknowledged the support of volunteers and faculty.

The student groups actively participated in the quiz, responding enthusiastically to the questions.
