Quick Talk – Confidence, Clarity, and Collaboration in Conversation

November 7, 2025

The SPIKES Club, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, organized an engaging event titled “Quick Talk” on 7th November 2025. The program was held in the Mini Auditorium from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. It was designed as a lively and interactive session where students could come together to share ideas, speak freely, and listen to one another.

It aimed to encourage students to communicate openly, practice public speaking, and exchange creative thoughts in a friendly environment. The event was also meant to help students overcome stage fear, build confidence, and learn how to present their ideas clearly within a limited time. By fostering collaborative discussions, the program created a space where students could interact meaningfully and learn from each other’s perspectives.

The event was coordinated by Dr. G. Harikrishnan, Associate Professor in the Department of EEE, along with enthusiastic student volunteers from the SPIKES Club. A total of 50 students participated in the session, and their performance was commendable. Each participant took the opportunity to speak, share, and listen with genuine interest. The students showed confidence and clarity in their short presentations.

The activity was conducted in a structured yet relaxed manner. Students were divided into small conversational groups, and each was given a short speaking window. This format emphasized brevity and clarity, encouraging participants to think concisely and articulate their ideas with confidence. Topics ranged from academic experiences and campus culture to personal motivation and innovation.

The takeaways from the event were significant. Students reported improved communication skills, greater confidence in public speaking, and a better ability to present ideas quickly and effectively. They also appreciated the chance to hear diverse opinions and experiences, which broadened their perspectives. Faculty members who observed the session praised the students for their clarity and confidence, and many recommended that similar events be organized regularly to strengthen communication and collaboration.

At the close of the program, the organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement. They acknowledged the efforts of the faculty coordinator, student volunteers, and the audience who made the event successful.

The audience was actively involved in understanding innovative ideas conveyed by a student during his presentation.

The audience responded with enthusiasm, engaging closely with the student’s innovative thoughts throughout her presentation.
