Push, Plank, and Breathe: A Celebration of Breathing and Physical Wellness

September 11

The Breath Easy Club, the School of Paramedical, Allied and Health Care Sciences (SOPAHCS) of MBU,  organized an health awareness event titled “Act of Wellness – In Context of Breathing and Physical Wellness” on 11th September 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at POP’S Canteen, MBU University. It was a vibrant gathering of students and faculty, all coming together to celebrate health and movement.

The main aim of the event was to promote awareness about the importance of breathing exercises and physical wellness in everyday life. With today’s fast-paced lifestyle and increasing screen time, many students face physical and mental health challenges. This initiative was designed to encourage simple yet effective habits that can improve overall well-being.

The event was coordinated by Ms. R.S. Angeline Yehudhiya, Assistant Professor at SOPAHCS. Around 75 students from MBU University actively participated. The session began with a warm welcome and an inspiring introduction by Dr. Jagatheesan Alagesan, Dean of SOPAHCS. He emphasized the need for regular exercise and healthy eating habits, especially for young adults.

The highlight of the event was the push-up and plank challenge. Students enthusiastically took part in these activities, guided by the wellness team. The atmosphere was energetic and filled with cheers as participants pushed their limits. These exercises were chosen for their simplicity and effectiveness in building core strength and improving posture. The team demonstrated proper techniques and encouraged everyone to try, making it fun and inclusive.

Participants left the session feeling refreshed and motivated. Many shared that they felt more aware of their breathing and realized how small physical efforts could make a big difference in their daily routine. It was a reminder that wellness doesn’t require fancy equipment—just a little time and commitment.

The organizers concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks. Ms. Angeline Yehudhiya expressed  her gratitude to all the students and faculty who joined, and encouraged everyone to make physical activity as a  joyful part of their everyday life.

With great enthusiasm, the participants dove into the push-up and plank challenge, bringing energy and competitive spirit to the event
