Promoting Scientific Temper and Critical Thinking through Myths vs Facts

About the Club and Event
The Science Club of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences organized an event titled “Scientific Temper Program: Myths vs Facts”. The Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences hosted the program on 12 January 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 4402. The event aimed to promote scientific temper, critical thinking, and evidence based reasoning among students. Students gathered with curiosity and enthusiasm to explore myths and facts related to science, health, and everyday life.
About the Coordinator and Participants
Ms. S. Vasiha Anjum, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences, coordinated the program. A total of 18 students from B.Sc. II Semester Biotechnology actively participated in the event. They performed with confidence and clarity, presenting their ideas in a lively and engaging manner. The event, Myth to Method: Myth or Fact, encouraged students to categorize statements as myths or facts. Each statement was followed by a clear scientific explanation supported by logical reasoning and basic principles of life sciences. The activity connected scientific concepts with everyday experiences, making science approachable and practical. Interactive discussions created a vibrant atmosphere where students freely shared their thoughts and learned from one another.
