Posters That Speak: Innovation, Insight, and Imagination in Biotechnology

The Science Club of the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, successfully hosted a dynamic and intellectually enriching poster presentation competition for B.Sc. (Biotechnology) students on 13 August 2025. Held in Room No. 2806 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the event aimed to foster scientific creativity, enhance presentation skills, and promote collaborative learning among students.

The competition was coordinated by Ms. S. Vasiha Anjum, Assistant Professor, who encouraged enthusiastic participation and guided the students throughout the event.

A total of 45 students from B.Sc. (Biotechnology) took part, showcasing posters on a wide range of biotechnology topics, including molecular biology, environmental biotechnology, medical diagnostics, and sustainable innovations. Each presentation was evaluated based on scientific accuracy, clarity of content, creativity in design, and relevance to contemporary scientific challenges.

Participants demonstrated admirable subject knowledge, creativity, innovative thinking, and effective communication skills. The event provided a dynamic platform for students to express their ideas, engage in peer-to-peer learning, and receive constructive feedback. Many students shared that the experience boosted their confidence, refined their research and design abilities, and deepened their interest in biotechnology.

The competition concluded with the announcement of winners, with the first prize awarded to Viswa Priya of III Sem B.Sc. for her outstanding poster presentation. The event was a resounding success, reflecting the department’s commitment to nurturing scientific inquiry and empowering students through experiential learning. The club coordinator extends her heartfelt gratitude to all participants and contributors for making this event a remarkable success
