Novus Connect: Bridging Cultures Through the Lens of Television

The Creative Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (CAMS) of MBU organized a vibrant event titled “Novus Connect” on 5th November 2025. The celebration took place in Room No. 4120 and brought together first-year B.Tech Mechanical Engineering students to mark World Television Day. The event was filled with energy, curiosity, and a shared spirit of learning and fun.
The main aim of the event was to help students understand the powerful role television plays in connecting people across the world. It focused on how television has become more than just a source of entertainment—it is a tool for education, cultural exchange, and global communication. The event also aimed to show how technology and creativity come together in the world of broadcast media.
The event was coordinated by four enthusiastic first-year students—Mr. T. Vrithika, Mr. M. Sreedhar, Mr. B. Harishwar Reddy, and Mr. K. Tanvi Sudarshan—under the guidance of Dr. D. Gowthami, Assistant Professor and CAMS Coordinator. The event saw active participation from I B.Tech Mechanical Engineering students. The coordinators did a wonderful job in planning and conducting the event smoothly. The participants were equally enthusiastic and showed great interest throughout the session.
The activities were designed to be both informative and engaging. The highlight of the event was a fun-filled movie trivia quiz that tested students’ knowledge of popular shows and films. This was followed by a technical quiz that focused on the mechanical and technological aspects of television and broadcasting. These activities helped students connect their academic learning with real-world applications in media and communication.
Students walked away with a better understanding of how television influences society and brings people together. They also gained insights into the technology behind broadcasting and how mechanical engineering plays a role in media systems. The event encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and appreciation for the blend of culture and technology.
The organizers concluded the session by thanking all the participants for their active involvement. Dr. D. Gowthami appreciated the efforts of the student coordinators and encouraged everyone to keep exploring the connections between engineering, media, and society. The event left a lasting impression, reminding students that learning can be both meaningful and enjoyable when creativity and knowledge come together.
