The FYE Club, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of MBU, hosted an exciting event titled “Movie Quiz Showdown” on 16th September 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The event took place within the department premises and brought together students for a fun-filled morning of movie trivia and friendly competition. The aim was to spark curiosity, encourage teamwork, and celebrate the world of cinema in a way that was both entertaining and educational. From iconic classics to modern blockbusters, the quiz covered a wide range of topics that kept everyone on their toes.
The event was coordinated by Ms. D. Harika, who ensured everything ran smoothly. This event was specially designed for 2nd and 3rd-year students of the ECE and EIE departments. A total of 60 students participated enthusiastically, forming teams and diving into the challenge with great energy. The student coordinators—G. Rupesh Sai, M. Firoz Shah, MMD. Munof, T. Sriman, and E. Karthik Akhil—played a key role in organizing and managing the event, keeping the atmosphere lively and engaging throughout.
The quiz was conducted in two rounds. In Round 1, participants answered direct questions related to movies, actors, directors, and famous quotes. Round 2 featured audio-visual clips where teams had to guess songs and dialogues. Each batch competed to raise their hands first and give the correct answer, making the event dynamic and interactive. The format encouraged quick thinking, collaboration, and a deep dive into cinematic knowledge.
Students walked away with more than just answers—they gained sharper recall, improved analytical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for storytelling across genres. The event also helped build stronger peer connections and fostered a sense of community through shared interests.
At the end of the event, the organizers expressed heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Their energy and love for movies made the Movie Quiz Showdown a memorable success, and the FYE Club looks forward to hosting more such engaging events in the future.
