The Wellness Wizards Club organized a session titled “Mastering Breath” on 17.02.2026 at NAB 4415. It aimed at promoting simple techniques to reduce stress and anxiety for mental well-being. The program focused on teaching simple breathing practices to help students manage stress and anxiety effectively.

Demonstrating Breathing  Techniques

Dr. Akbar J, Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy, coordinated the session.  Nearly fifty students participated actively and showed great enthusiasm throughout the program. Student presenters explained the science behind breathing and its role in calming the nervous system. They demonstrated techniques like diaphragmatic breathing, box breathing, and paced breathing with clear instructions. Participants practiced these methods and experienced immediate relaxation through practice. The event highlighted the importance of self-care and mental health for future healthcare professionals. It also helped student organizers improve their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Takeaways and Feedback

Participants appreciated the practical demonstrations and interactive discussions during the session. They reported feeling calmer and more focused after practicing the breathing techniques. They also expressed interest in attending more wellness programs in the future.  Moreover, they requested advanced sessions on stress management and relaxation strategies to strengthen professional competence.
