Integrating Art and Anatomy: A Creative Learning Experience

November 11

The Wellness Wizard Club, the School of Paramedical, Allied & Health Care Sciences (SOPAHS), Department of Physiotherapy, organized a unique and engaging event titled “Art of Anatomy Science on Skin” on 11th November 2025, from10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mini Auditorium. This academic art event brought together creativity and medical science, offering students a refreshing way to explore human anatomy through artistic expression.

The event aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the anatomical structures of the face, hand, and foot by encouraging them to visualize and represent these parts through body painting and colour art. By blending science with art, the session created a space for experiential learning, where students could explore anatomy beyond textbooks and diagrams.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Akbar J., Assistant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, SOPAHCS. A total of 44 students participated enthusiastically, bringing their own art supplies, reference images, and models. Their energy and creativity were evident as they immersed themselves in the activity, transforming their knowledge into vibrant, skin-safe artworks.

Participants were given one hour to complete their anatomical art pieces. The session was not only about painting but also about understanding the form and function of human anatomy. Students worked in pairs or small groups, discussing muscle structures, bone landmarks, and the artistic techniques to represent them accurately. The atmosphere was lively, filled with curiosity, collaboration, and a shared passion for learning.

The event proved to be a meaningful learning experience. Students walked away with anatomical concepts, especially the surface anatomy of the face, hand, and foot. They also developed practical skills in translating scientific knowledge into visual art using safe materials. The activity encouraged students to think beyond conventional methods of learning. The initiative also sparked interest in integrating art into future academic projects,

The organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants for their spirited involvement and creativity. They appreciated the positive feedback and thoughtful suggestions for future sessions, including more interactive workshops and follow-up activities. The event was a wonderful experience, especially when it brought together science, art, and imagination.

Celebrating creativity and effort, the faculty coordinator awarded prizes to the most impressive anatomical artworks.

The club members are preparing body painting and colour art to depict the anatomical structures of the face, hand, and foot.
