Innovator Auction: Where Movies Meet Minds

The Data Club, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, hosted a lively and creative event titled “Innovators Auction” on 6th November 2025. Held within the department premises, the event brought together students for a fun-filled experience that blended entertainment with innovation. The atmosphere was energetic and engaging as participants explored new ideas through a movie-themed activity.
The main aim of the Innovator Auction was to spark creativity, teamwork, and strategic thinking among students. By connecting popular movie scenes to real-world innovations, the event encouraged participants to think outside the box. It also aimed to promote awareness of sustainability and innovation in a way that was both enjoyable and thought-provoking.
The event was coordinated by Ms. K. Sandhya, Assistant Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. A total of 37 students took part in the activity, showing great enthusiasm and imagination throughout the session. Their participation was marked by active engagement, thoughtful connections, and collaborative spirit, making the event both meaningful and memorable.
During the activity, students were shown famous movie pictures and scenes. Using virtual currency, they “bid” on these images, each representing a concept or innovation. The challenge was to build the most creative and valuable collection by linking the images to unique ideas or themes. This format brought together the excitement of an auction with the joy of movies, encouraging students to think creatively, communicate clearly, and work as a team. The event was non-technical, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
The Innovator Auction helped students improve their creative thinking and communication skills. It also gave them a chance to apply their academic knowledge in a fun and imaginative way. Many participants said the event helped them see innovation from a fresh perspective and made them more aware of how entertainment can inspire real-world solutions. The activity also highlighted the importance of sustainability and interdisciplinary learning.
At the end of the event, the organizers expressed their heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their enthusiasm and thoughtful contributions. They appreciated the students’ energy, creativity, and teamwork, which made the event a great success. Faculty and students alike recommended organizing more such events in the future to continue nurturing a culture of innovation and collaboration.
