Healthy Futures: Student-Led Insights on Childhood Cancer

Focus of the Event
The Nutrition Club of MBU organized “Childhood Cancer Day Awareness” Program on 19 February 2026. The event took place at the Pharmacy Block at 4:00 PM with the aim of spreading awareness on childhood cancers. The program focused on educating students about early diagnosis, nutrition, medical care, and emotional support for affected children.
Managing Childhood Cancers
Dr. Hari V, Associate Professor, coordinated the program and delivered the opening speech highlighting the importance of awareness. She explained the role of nutrition, timely medical intervention, and family support in managing childhood cancers. A total of 35 students participated actively in the session and contributed to the discussions. Pharm D III Year students presented detailed information on causes, risk factors, early signs, and preventive measures. They also explained treatment options and emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyle and regular medical check-ups. The event created a strong impact by motivating students to spread awareness in their communities.
Participant Reflections
The participants gained valuable knowledge about the causes and early detection of childhood cancers. They understood the importance of early diagnosis and proper nutrition in improving outcomes for affected children. Students expressed that the session encouraged them to take responsibility in spreading awareness in society.
