Git & GitHub Mastery workshop: Connecting Classroom Concepts with Real-World Practice

Theme of the Event
The Coding Club of MBU organized the “Git & GitHub Mastery workshop” on 13 February 2026 in the Department of AIML. The session aimed at providing students with strong knowledge of version control and collaboration. It focused on Git fundamentals and practical use of GitHub for teamwork and project management.
Industry Best Practices
Mr. Ranjeet Kumar, faculty coordinator, coordinated the workshop with exceptional guidance. A total of 100 students actively participated in the session with great interest. The students engaged in hands-on tasks that demonstrated real-world coding workflows. The event explained repositories, commits, branches, merges, and version tracking in detail. The club members practiced using GitHub features like pull requests and issue tracking. The workshop highlighted industry best practices for collaborative software development. It helped students understand how developers manage and share code in professional projects.
Reflections and Observations
Students gained confidence in using Git and GitHub for academic and real-world projects. They appreciated the interactive format and hands-on demonstrations during the workshop. They also appreciated the clear explanations and real-time examples provided by the resource persons. Feedback suggested that the session bridged the gap between theory and practice.
