Creative Expressions on Environmental Conservation

The Tree Appreciation Club, the Department of Horticulture, organized a Poster Making Contest on the theme “Save Trees, Save Earth” on 19 December 2025 at the Civil Block from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The contest was designed to combine artistic expression with environmental awareness. The aim of the event was to encourage students to reflect on the importance of conserving trees and protecting the environment. Through posters, the contest provided awareness about how trees sustain life, support agriculture, and maintain ecological balance.
The contest was coordinated by Dr. K. Mallikarjuna, Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture. A total of 54 Agriculture students participated enthusiastically in the event. Each participant brought fresh ideas and unique perspectives to the theme. Their performance was marked by creativity, dedication, and a genuine concern for the environment. The posters reflected not only artistic talent but also the students’ ability to connect environmental issues with their academic learning in agriculture.
The activity was conducted in a lively and encouraging manner. Students were given the freedom to design posters using drawings, slogans, and illustrations. Many posters highlighted the role of trees in sustaining life and agriculture, while others emphasized the urgent need to protect natural resources. The contest created a platform where students could showcase their talents, express their thoughts, and learn from one another. It also reinforced the importance of linking environmental themes with agricultural education, making the session both educational and inspiring.
The key takeaways for the participants were significant. The contest enhanced their creativity and artistic skills, improved their ability to communicate visually, and deepened their awareness of tree conservation and sustainability. It encouraged them to think critically about environmental issues and to relate these concerns to their studies and future roles in agriculture. The event also strengthened student participation in club activities and nurtured a sense of responsibility toward protecting nature.
At the end of the contest, the organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement and enthusiasm. Their contribution made the event a success and added value to the club’s monthly activities. The faculty and coordinators appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged them to continue spreading awareness about environmental protection in creative ways.
