The Cultural Club of MBU organized “Onam Utsav”, a vibrant cultural evening, on 2nd September 2025 in front of M-Block. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the spirit of Onam with joy, tradition, and togetherness. The open-air setting added to the festive mood, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.
The event aimed to promote cultural harmony and provide a space for creative expression. It was designed to help students and faculty connect with traditional values while celebrating the richness of Kerala’s heritage. Through dance, music, and festive attire, the program encouraged everyone to embrace unity and celebrate diversity.
Dr. P. Thejasree, Associate Professor and Deputy DSA, coordinated the event with great enthusiasm and care. Around 50 participants took part, including girl students and faculty members who performed traditional dances dressed in Kerala sarees. Their graceful movements and vibrant energy lit up the evening, drawing applause and appreciation from the audience.
The performances were the heart of the celebration. Each dance was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully executed, reflecting the cultural essence of Onam. The Kerala saree added elegance and authenticity to the event, making it a visual treat. The activity was conducted in a spirit of collaboration, with participants supporting each other and working as a team to bring the event to life.
For the participants, Onam Utsav was more than just a performance—it was a chance to express themselves, learn about tradition, and bond with their peers. Many shared that the event helped them feel more connected to their roots and gave them a refreshing break from their regular academic routine. It also boosted their confidence and creativity.
At the end of the evening, the organizers expressed heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their dedication and spirit. Their efforts made the event memorable and meaningful, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
