Celebrating Creativity: A Showcase of Skills and Talent

The Toastmasters Club, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, organized a vibrant event titled Showcase Your Skills – Open Mic or Talent-Based Presentations” on 23rd December 2025. The event was held from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. at Room 2052, in the Diploma Block. It was designed as a lively platform for students to present their talents in front of their peers in a supportive environment. The aim of the event was to encourage self-expression and creativity among students. It provided the participants a safe and inclusive space where they could showcase their talents such as public speaking, stand-up comedy, poetry recitations, and musical performances. Beyond entertainment, the program was intended to boost confidence, promote communication skills, and foster a sense of community engagement.

The program was coordinated by Dr. K. Manigandan, Associate Professor of English. A total of 42 students participated in the event. The participants performed with enthusiasm and creativity, making the session dynamic and engaging. Each performance reflected the individuality of the students, and their willingness to step out of their comfort zones was admirable. The audience responded warmly, which further motivated the performers to give their best.

The activity was conducted in an open Mic format, allowing spontaneous participation and freedom of expression. Students presented speeches, recited poetry, performed comedy acts, and shared other creative talents. The importance of the event lay in its ability to combine entertainment with constructive learning. Participants received feedback from peers and coordinators, which helped them, reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement. The supportive environment ensured that everyone felt comfortable and encouraged to participate.

The key takeaways for the participants were increased confidence, improved communication skills, and a stronger sense of belonging to the Toastmasters community. They learned the value of constructive feedback and realized how public performances can help in personal and academic growth. The event also highlighted the importance of creativity and self-expression in building perfect individuals.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement and positive feedback. They appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the students and assured them that more such interactive and talent-based programs would be organized in the future. The event was a resounding success, celebrating the creativity and spirit of the Toastmasters Club.
