Bridging Theory and Practice: Digital Radiography Workflow Unveiled

November 11

The Imaging Squad Club of the School of Paramedical and Allied Health Care Sciences (SOPAHCS) organized a workshop titled “Digital Radiography Workflow” on 11th November 2025. The session was held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the SOPAHCS premises. The event brought together students and faculty for an engaging and informative hour focused on the practical aspects of digital radiography.

The main aim of the workshop was to help students understand the complete workflow of digital radiography—from patient data entry and image acquisition to post-processing and archiving. The session focused on how digital systems have transformed radiology by improving image quality, reducing radiation exposure, and speeding up diagnosis. It also aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world clinical practice.

The workshop was coordinated by Mrs. G. Moohini Latha, Assistant Professor and Convener of the Imaging Squad Club. A total of 53 students from the School of Allied Health Sciences participated in the event. The students were divided into small groups, and each group was assigned a specific stage of the radiography workflow to explore and present. Their presentations were well-prepared, and they confidently explained technical concepts with clarity and enthusiasm.

The session included a mix of presentations, discussions, and hands-on learning. Students showcased their understanding of key steps like exposure selection, image processing, and quality assurance. They also discussed the importance of DICOM standards, data security, and ethical handling of patient information. A quiz and an image-based puzzle challenge added a fun and interactive element, testing the students’ knowledge and encouraging healthy competition.

Participants gained a deeper understanding of how digital radiography works in clinical settings. They learned how efficient workflow management can improve image quality and reduce patient waiting time. The workshop also emphasized the importance of radiation safety and the role of radiographers in ensuring patient care. Students walked away with improved confidence, better teamwork, and a clearer grasp of digital imaging systems.

The event concluded with a  Vote of Thanks by Mrs. G. Moohini Latha, who appreciated the support of the faculty and the active participation of the students. She encouraged everyone to continue learning and growing, reminding them that digital radiography is a powerful tool that combines technology and precision to improve healthcare outcomes.
