The Idea Club, the School of Commerce and Management, and MBU hosted a dynamic and exciting event titled “Trend Storm: Forecasting the Future of Innovation” on 22nd August 2025. Designed as a platform for students to brainstorm futuristic ideas and solutions addressing emerging trends, the event aimed to foster creative thinking and cultivate an innovation-oriented mindset among students.
Under the able coordination of Dr. B. Ujawala, Assistant Professor, SCM, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 62 students across departments. Their vibrant engagement and imaginative contributions reflected a strong commitment to innovation and interdepartmental collaboration.
The activity was conducted in two rounds. In round one, namely idea storming, participants were encouraged to generate as many ideas as possible in response to broad themes such as technology, business sustainability, social innovation, and future market needs. A total of eight individual presentations and one team presentation were made in this round. The round’s intent was to unleash creativity, help participants think beyond conventional boundaries, and identify potential areas of innovation that can be refined later.
Round two, namely Innovation Pitching, was based on the evaluation of Round 1. Five individual participants and one team were shortlisted from round 1 to present their ideas in detail. Participants were asked to pitch their ideas by explaining the concept, problem addressed, feasibility, target audience, and potential impact. Each participant/team pitched their concepts by highlighting the problem addressed, feasibility, target audience, and expected impact. The session provided students with real-time exposure to professional entrepreneurial pitching practices.
The event concluded with the announcement of winners and runners-up, recognizing the best innovative ideas presented during the competition. The first place is secured by Mr. R. Sachin, I Year CSE (AI & DS), and the remaining positions are won by Mr. S. Nitish Kumar, I Year EEE. Mr. R. Charan Harsha – I Year EEE Mr. M. Tejeshram Arridatta—I Year EEE
The event was well-organized and successfully achieved its mission. The vibrant, competitive atmosphere inspired students to push their boundaries and elevate their expertise. The participants highlighted that the sessions greatly encouraged creativity, innovation, and confidence in presenting ideas, while also inspiring them to consider entrepreneurship and innovation as career paths. The event organizers sincerely expressed their gratitude to all the participants and faculties for their invaluable support and contributions for making the event a remarkable success.
