The Finance and Investment Club of MBU organized an event titled “Behavioral Finance: Understanding Investor Psychology” on 24 March 2026. The event aimed to help students understand how psychological factors influence investment decisions and financial market behavior.
Presentations by the Students
Dr. Dasari Rajesh Babu, Associate Professor, School of Commerce and Management, coordinated the event. A total of 100 students attended the session, with nine participants presenting PPTs on behavioral finance. Hansika was declared the winner, while Harshitha secured the runner-up position. The presentations focused on cognitive biases, emotional influences, herd behavior, and risk perception. The competition highlighted how investor psychology impacts financial choices and market movements.
Takeaways and Feedback
The participants gained clarity on concepts such as overconfidence, loss aversion, and herd behavior. They also understood how emotions and biases affect investment decisions in real-world situations. Moreover, they appreciated the practical insights and examples shared during the event. The feedback showed that the session improved awareness of investor psychology and encouraged rational decision-making. The event was considered informative, engaging, and impactful, promoting financial literacy and awareness.
