Balanced Diet, Balanced Life: A Student-Centered Wellness Initiative at MBU

The Nutrition Club, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Mohan Babu University, organized a meaningful workshop titled “Healthy Nutrition for a Healthy Mind” on 18th September 2025. The session was held from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and took place on campus, drawing students from various departments including Nursing, Management, and Computer Science & Engineering .

The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the vital connection between nutrition and mental well-being. It focused on helping students understand how a balanced diet not only supports physical health but also plays a key role in emotional and mental stability. The event encouraged participants to adopt healthy eating habits and simple lifestyle changes for long-term wellness.

The session began with a warm welcome and introductory address by Dr.V. Hari, Associate Professor, M.B. School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This was followed by expert talks delivered by Dr. B. Archana and Mrs. Bhuvana Sai from Sree Vidyanikethan College of Nursing. Around 65 students took part in the workshop, showing great interest and enthusiasm throughout. Their active participation made the session lively and engaging.

The workshop was divided into two interactive modules. The first module featured expert lectures that highlighted the importance of nutrition in preventing malnutrition and promoting mental health. The second module was a hands-on training session led by Pharm.D III-year students of MBU. Participants learned how to measure BMI, monitor vital signs, and received practical tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The combination of theory and practice made the learning experience more impactful.

Students walked away with a better understanding of how nutrition affects both body and mind. They gained practical knowledge on health monitoring and felt motivated to make healthier choices in their daily lives. The event also fostered collaboration among students from different disciplines, encouraging holistic learning and shared responsibility for well-being.

At the end of the workshop, the organizers expressed heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their active involvement. The faculty appreciated the efforts of the student volunteers and speakers who made the event a success. The session left a lasting impression, reminding everyone that good health truly begins with good nutrition.
