AI for Every Breath: Innovations in Lung Cancer Detection – Lung Cancer Awareness

The Breath Easy Club of MBU organized a special program on “Lung Cancer Awareness Month” with the theme “AI for Every Breath: Innovations in Lung Cancer Detection” on 10th November 2025. The event was held at the School of Paramedical, Allied and Health Care Sciences. The program was designed to bring students together to learn, share, and create awareness about lung cancer and the role of technology in healthcare.
The aim of the event was to highlight the importance of early detection of lung cancer and to showcase how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming healthcare practices. The theme emphasized that every breath matters and that technology can play a vital role in saving lives. By focusing on prevention, awareness, and innovation, the event encouraged students to think about how modern tools can support healthcare professionals in diagnosing and treating lung cancer more effectively.
The program was coordinated by Assistant Professor R.S. Angeline Yehudhiya, with guidance from the Head of Department, Mr. K. Manas Chakravarthy. A total of 63 participants, actively took part in the event. The students showed great enthusiasm in presenting their ideas and engaging in discussions. Their participation reflected their interest in healthcare innovation and their commitment to spreading awareness about lung cancer.
The main activity of the event was poster presentations prepared by the students. These posters highlighted the importance of early detection, prevention strategies, and the role of AI in healthcare. The presentations explained how AI-based technologies can improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce detection time, and support personalized treatment planning. The activity was conducted in a structured manner, beginning with an introduction, followed by poster exhibitions, and ending with interactive discussions. Faculty members and peers provided valuable feedback, making the session lively and informative.
The key takeaway for the participants was the realization that awareness and innovation go hand in hand in healthcare. Students learned that early identification of abnormalities can prevent delays in treatment and save lives. They also understood how AI can be a powerful tool in healthcare, offering faster and more accurate results. The event inspired them to think about preventive health practices and the importance of embracing technology in medical fields.
The organizers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement. They appreciated the efforts of the students in preparing posters and sharing ideas, which made the event impactful.
