Speech and Mock Contest Organised By Toastmasters Club School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, MBU.
The “Speech and Mock Contest Preparation” session, held on September 18, 2024, was a highly productive and empowering experience for the members of the “Toastmasters Club”. The session provided the perfect platform for members to hone their skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of requirements and nuances of Toastmasters contests. Through a blend of workshops, mock contests, and detailed feedback sessions, participants delved into the difficulties of contest speeches, learning not only how to craft impactful speeches but also how to deliver them with confidence and flair. The session emphasized the development of both prepared speeches and impromptu speaking (Table Topics), equipping members with the tools needed to excel in all aspects of the competition.
The mock contests were particularly valuable, offering a safe and supportive environment where members could refine their speeches, experiment with delivery techniques, and gain insights from peers and mentors. Constructive feedback helped participants fine-tune their presentations, ensuring they were mentally and emotionally prepared for the challenges of real contest scenarios. By the end of the session, members not only improved their speaking and leadership abilities, but also gained a significant boost in confidence.
